Why do Nurses need financial support from NurseAid?
Nurses seek our financial support because they are finding it difficult to cope - frequently this can be due to illness or an accident that pushes people to their financial limits. Some Nurses need our help for just a short time to get them over a bad patch - others Nurses need our financial support for longer. As nurses, we are used to being the one helping others - it can be very difficult to seek help for ourselves. No-one ever intends to be in the situation of having to look for support. At NurseAid we understand this, and never judge, but always listen with compassion and understanding. All applications are treated in the strictest of confidence.

What sort of help can we give?
NurseAid can make single, one off grants to help with a variety of things such as adaptations to the home, replacing white goods, help with decorating etc. In some circumstances we can help with bills. We ask you what sort of help you require and see if we can help. In many cases we can offer a regular weekly grant to help with day to day living costs.

Receiving a grant from NurseAid will not affect your entitlement to benefits.

NurseAid can also work with other charities to contribute to the costs of larger items such as installing chairlifts, purchasing electric scooters, house repairs or adaptations.

What can't we do?
NurseAid cannot help with debts, nursing home fees, bankruptcy fees or funeral expenses. We cannot help with educational costs or top up nursing bursaries. We do not make loans and cannot help people who are not resident in the UK.

Who can we help?
We can help nurses of all ages, (from those who are older and are living on limited means to those who, through no fault of their own, are finding it difficult to cope), healthcare assistants (nursing auxiliaries) and student nurses.
